Molteni&C was founded by Angelo Molteni in 1934 in Giussano, Brianza. Now in its third generation, the family business has remained quietly dominant — collaborating with designers like Gio Ponti, Vincent Van Duysen, and Foster + Partners while keeping production rooted in the same Italian valley.

What Molteni does well

Three things: tailored upholstery (the Sloane and Paul sofas are studies in the form), modular wall systems (the 505 system has been refined for over 50 years), and timeless wood case-goods. Their reissues of Gio Ponti's mid-century work are widely considered the best in the industry.
